Weather or Not!

	November Is Here!

We are on the home stretch of autumn of 2009. Before we know it, the snow will be flying again and we'll be dreaming of warm weather and sunny skies. I can't say much for the weather we've had this year. The temps over the summer months were nice, but we had much too much rain. Today we are seeing the sun but our temp is only in the mid 40's. It is now 2:30 PM so I don't think that it will get much warmer than this. There is more rain expected tonight. Our Halloween was quiet as usual. We did get some pumpkins carved but no trick-or-treaters as usual. That's OK. I usually buy a bag of candy just in case and we always enjoy eating it the next day.

October for the most part wasn't much better than our summer has been. I think it rained most days or was cloudy. I can't really remember any days that were sunny all day. If there were any, they were few and far between.

Most trees are bare now with just a few maples hanging on to a few. The winds that we had the past few days took care of that. We had 30-40 mph gusts over the past two days which made Halloween a bit unpleasant for the candy seekers who weren't stricken with the flu. I worked ER registration last night and it was relatively quiet. But there were a few sickies who came in, costume and all, that just couldn't deal with their symptoms anymore. But I guess that's what we're there for.

Indian Summer In Michigan

I guess that's what we're having! The forecast calls for warm temps today and tomorrow . . . in fact, some parts of the state could see 70F tomorrow! Today should be decent with partly sunny conditions becoming mostly cloudy by late today. Then we could see some rain overnight but the temps will remain mild. A Very Wet Autumn

Today we just returned from an 11 day camping trip up at Platte River Campground near Beulah, MI. We had 4 dry days out of the 11 that we were there. On the first day we experienced a major November-type storm which began with thunderstorms the night that we arrived, and continued with moderate to heavy rains and wind gust up to 50 mph along the Lake Michigan shore. Close of Summer in Mid-Michigan

With summer quickly coming to an end, we can see certain signs that autumn is approaching however not too quickly. Last night we were under a frost advisory but our low temp only got down to 37F, not quite enough for a freeze. A Dry September in Mid-Michigan

This actually is a good thing considering how wet the past three months have been. We have received no rain since Sept. 1, but that sure hasn't stopped the mosquito population around here. I can't remember them being this bad in the past 30 years. All in all our weather has been beautiful.
