Weather Underground Forecast for Monday, July 21, 2008. A large, deep trough of low pressure will affect most of the continent's weather Monday. This trough will rip right through the heart of the continent and produce several low pressure systems.

One of the low pressure systems will move from Poland through the Baltic States and drag its associated cold front through Ukraine, Romania, and the northern Adriatic countries. This feature will produce rain in these regions, but the precipitation should gradually wane as the day progresses. Much heavier precipitation is expected in the Baltic States and adjacent areas of western Russia.

Another low pressure system will sweep across Denmark and the southern Baltic Sea. These areas, and much of the Scandinavian Peninsula can expect widespread cool showers for much of the day.

The trough of low pressure will also usher cool air into the heart of the continent.

To the west, a ridge of high pressure will gradually move into the United Kingdom and the Iberian Peninsula from the Atlantic Ocean. This will produce dry and warming conditions for these areas.

London will rise into the upper 60s(F)/lower 20s(C), while Paris will see temperatures in the mid-60s(F)/upper 10s(C). Moscow will rise into the lower 80s(F)/upper 20s(C).
