Life-threatening flooding continues across the South and Ohio Valley Monday after days of rain and storms hit the regions. Rivers were cresting Monday at near-record levels and towns and cities were under mandatory evacuations. Several people have been killed since the rain and severe storms began mid-week last week.

An incoming pattern change will cause temperatures to flip across the country, keeping you wondering what season we’re really in. The East will get relief from the hot, stormy weather, but temperatures will drop farther than most would like to see in April. Places like Chicago, New York and D.C. will see highs only reaching the 40s early this week. But the heat will crank up in the West. Places like Boise and Albuquerque will soar into the 80s, while others like Phoenix and Las Vegas will reach the 90s. However, low temperatures will stay chilly across the country. Residents of Frankfort, Kentucky, were under a curfew Sunday night as flooding worsened in the state’s capital. The Kentucky river was expected to crest at a nearly record level early Monday, so neighborhoods already inundated by heavy rain remained under flood warnings. Dramatic video shows the power of the swollen river, as a dock slammed into a bridge on Sunday.
