Really nice with the bright colors snd starkness of the of the foreground, the soft backdrop for the rainbow, and detail again in the distant sky. Not only is the violet band especially evident - the whole spectrum repeats. I'm not sure I've ever seen that before. Action: \| Ignore User

Thanks so much everyone! This rainbow was an especially striking one. I went outside the door and noticed tourists snapping away at the sky. Grabbed my camera and ran up the street to the castle to get a better angle..there was actually a double rainbow but the second bow was fading too quickly for me to capture it with the camera. After living most of my life in the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina and Virginia in the United States, I now live in Limerick, Ireland, where the scenery is quite different. I've been taking photos since I was a child. I've never had any professional training as regards taking photographs -- as my photos will prove!!. I just photograph what looks interesting to me. It's a hobby that I get great satisfaction from. I welcome any pointers and tips from other photographers.
